Team Daksh, a group of enterprising pupils from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (from hereon referred to as NITJ) has won many laurels in the recently concluded Electric Solar Vehicle Championship (ESVC ‘19), a national level car designing and fabrication competition, held in Chandigarh in March 2019. They bagged the top honors in the Off-Road Ability Event & the Solar Endurance Event and emerged as the overall champions in the competition. Additionally, they also won a multitude of prizes in the Future Solar Design Challenge (FSDC 19) event held at the Chitkara University, Rajpura (Punjab).
Wondering why we are talking about a band of students from NITJ in our fortnightly blog post?
It all started with an email that our Managing Director (MD), Rony Stephen, received in August 2018 from a member of Team Daksh. Briefly, the email outlined details of the event the team wishes to participate in along with a detailed project plan, and a request for financial support to fulfill Team Daksh’s goals. After internal deliberations with Joe and me, Rony, being the person, he is, with a keen eye for identifying young technical talent, amalgamated with a compassion for the plight of engineering students, loosened his purse and offered them the Title Sponsorship (the highest kind) for the event. Another trenchant reason for his generous gesture could be attributed to him being a former alumnus in the Electronics and Instrumentation Department of NITJ. Over the course of the next few months we worked in close coordination with Team Daksh to iron out the formalities to ensure streamlined channels of communication. At every step of the way culminating in the event in March 2019, we were eagerly monitoring the project progress. Consequently, we were elated by the end results achieved by our young and budding entrepreneurs and hope to aid and abet them in their career aspirations.
Last but not the least, we at Precise believe that identifying and nurturing talent forms the bedrock of any organization. We are also actively seeking to find more ways in which we can play this role of developing the next generation of engineers and technologists. Our involvement with and support for the Daksh team is an extension of this value. So wish all members of Daksh the very best in their future endeavors!
